Advocating Against Pennsylvania's Participation in RGGI

What is RGGI?

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is a state proposal that aims to remove a large percentage of affordable and reliable electricity production in PA.

As a result, RGGI will directly impact thousands of mining jobs that provide fuel for the industry and provide a competitive advantage to neighboring coal and gas powered states with no energy tax.

If implemented, RGGI will also increase residents' electricity prices through a consumer-funded carbon tax on all Pennsylvanians, all for no measurable environmental improvement.

Heritage Coal & Natural Resources President, Angela Svonavec, currently serves on the board of the PA Coal Alliance, which is actively opposing RGGI as a member of the Power PA Jobs Coalition.
